| The need for a short-term mission handbook was prompted by an urgent request from two fellow missionaries on Stateside Assignment who were training church members for a mission trip. A manual was hastily assembled around a set of basic Bible stories that covered the truths leading to salvation. At that time the thinking was not so much on the "short-term" as pect as upon providing a general resource that mission teams could choose from. Other requests followed asking for various storying forms and numbers of stories as well as what to say or teach after telling a Bible story. This handbook suggests some resources for those on short-term mission assignments. |

Author Bio: J.O. Terry served under the International Mission Board of the Philippines in 1968 and then as the Asian-Pacific Region media consultant until 2003. At the invitation of Dr. Jim Slack, J.O. Terry contributed to the development of Chronological Bible Storying. Terry has led workshops and conferences in 35 countries, numerous Bible Schools, Universities, and Seminaries. In addition to writing Basic Bible Storying, J.O. Terry serves as publisher if the Bible Story Newsletter and the Journal for Bible Storying. He continues to teach Bible Storying and shares his experience with Bible Storyers in many parts of the world. |
