Watches of the Night is an historical romance… a love story between a princess of one of the post-Roman kingdom's and a young Catholic priest. Entwined in the tale are individuals and events that form part of the historical record.
Ian Barrett has been called "a true Renaissance man". His eclectic education in Biochemistry, Administration, Law, Photography, Computers and Chartered Accountancy served as preparation for careers in Education, Charity, and Business. The winner of many awards including 'Outstanding Young Man of Canada' and 'Ontario Teacher of the Year', Ian has written books on topics as diverse as Biochemistry, Teachers and the Law, and Group Dynamics. A noted public speaker and presenter, Ian's hobbies include poetry, animal welfare, politics, athletics, stone masonry, and travel.
Watches of the Night is Ian's first novel. He lives in Erin, Ontario with his wife Susan and four rescued dogs.
